Located at the Los Angeles County Arboretum, Lightscape is a musical twist on holiday lights. Described as “an internationally acclaimed extravaganza of light, art, and music from London,” you will definitely enjoy yourself.
Tickets are $32 per person and parking is free, as long as you are willing to park to at the racetrack and shuttle over.
You will walk through a roughly mile-long loop and see several light installations. Feast your eyes on colorful flowers, lights that twinkle along with Christmas music, and snap photos at various photo op spots. Stop at one of three bars and grab a Hot Toddy, or if you’re feeling hungry, pick up a churro at the café. For an additional fee, you can also make your own smores by purchasing a Smores kit.
Be on the lookout for the weird disco ball displays, get some warmth at the fire garden display, and check out the Hollywood stars that appear on the ground…they will shed some light(literally) on some of the movies/shows that have been filmed at the Arboretum. Although only mild in Christmas spirit, the brisk night walk and lights will get you in the festive mood.
This is a fun, family outing and a great outdoor experience. Go see if it lives up to the hype for you! In the meantime, here are some of our cool snapshots!
Making spirits bright,
