With the summer heat in full force, we decided to hit the beach over the weekend. We got up bright and early, headed to Malibu, and parked alongside PCH, by the Malibu Lagoon. We followed the path that leads to the water and started exploring.
The tide was low, and we were able to see countless crabs, sea urchins, sea anemone, and snails up close and personal. We also got lucky enough to find some shells and sea glass. #shellingforthewin Finding shells and sea glass might just be an addiction for us. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️
Since the tide was low, we were able to walk along the beach to the Malibu Pier. #score If you know the area, you know that you are usually unable to do this, as the water covers the beach.
As we approached the pier, we saw that there was no wait for the insanely hyped Malibu Farm, so we decided to take advantage and grabbed a table. Â Let us just start by saying, the table is on the pier, we were able to sit down sandy and barefoot, and we could hear and listen to the waves the entire time. We started to understand the hype before even eating!
If you are like me, you are going to get coffee. Have you ever seen those permanently exhausted pigeon memes? Well, that is me. If you are like Troy, you are going to stick with water or grab a smoothie. He got water, but obviously, I got a coffee…specifically a caramel cappuccino, and it was worth every penny. Let me just say it was LOTS of pennies…this place is not cheap. We spent close to $100 for breakfast…it is worth the experience, but we do not want anyone to be surprised.
Now for the eats:
-Troy ordered the Kale, Spinach, Ricotta, Eggs Scramble served with Bacon, Focaccia and Breakfast Potatoes.
– I ordered the Salsa Verde Egg-wich which is fried eggs, Havarti cheese, and Salsa Verde served on a brioche bun, with breakfast potatoes and arugula on the side.
Both meals were exemplary. We cleaned our plates dry! Everyone should try this place!
After breakfast, we walked down the pier and stumbled across the COOLEST SHOP EVER…Alkemie Road. It is literally a truck that parks on the pier and is full of handmade 100% reclaimed metal jewelry & belts, wellness products, organic beauty, vintage treasures, candles, incense, crystals, and more. Dara and Ashley own this incredible gem and are some of the kindest souls we’ve have met. They are friendly, passionate about their products, and have an eye for cool designs and old school finds. We don’t think it’s possible to go into this boutique on wheels and not walk out with something. At minimum, you will leave feeling happy and full of positive energy. After your visit, don’t forget to stop and make a wish on the wishing swing.
Go check out this pier, you will not be disappointed. If you have extra time, you can check out the Malibu County Mart and Lumber Yard, found across the street from the Malibu Lagoon.
Still reeling from our day in the BU,
TnT
