Located in Western Arizona this spot is bound to get your motor running! Full of booze, boats, and blazing sunshine, you can’t come to this party spot without having a blast!
We visited this spot just before Spring Break took place, so it was a bit more peaceful than the usual loud scene, but it was still SOOOO much fun! We already want to go back and explore more!
What we saw VS Spring Break Reality:
First off, Lake Havasu is stunning!! 🌞🌞🌞🌞 The water is so blue that it looks like you are on a Caribbean Island. You will definitely be able to snap some idyllic shots here, and if you’re lucky you might catch some boats ripping across the water as well. The boats here can be equally as beautiful…think metal flake paint jobs, glitter accents, spectacular sound systems, and motors that make ocean-like wake! It’s right up our alley to say the least! 🌊🌊🌊🌊
While on our short visit here, we visited three spots that stood out to us…
· Mudshark Brewery – It’s a solar-powered brewery, and it is definitely in our Top 5 Breweries! Serving food and unique brews, this place is one of the best if you are a beer drinker. It’s a great spot for lounging by the fire pit, soaking in lake views, bringing your furry friends, playing games, and more. Described as “your favorite coffee house…but with a frothy foam.” 🍻🍻 Order the Upriver Light Lager and you’re in for a treat. Another plus – the merch is cool here too! The logo is a shark! 🦈
· London Bridge – This bridge crosses the Bridgewater Channel Canal on Lake Havasu. Originally built in London, England in the 1830s, it stayed in its home until it became too weak for it’s daily traffic crossings in 1962. In 1968, the bridge was purchased by Robert McCulloch, an entrepreneur and real estate developer in Lake Havasu City, and it was that year that the bridge began its journey into the United States. It was dismantled and sent aboard a cargo ship that would travel up the Panama Canal to be unloaded in Port of Long Beach, California. It was then driven to its new home in Arizona. The bridge was a game changer for the city, bringing up property value and creating the start of a new tourist destination. It is now the second most visited spot in Arizona. (The number one spot is the Grand Canyon) Two fun facts about this bridge…
o One – You will see locks all over the bridge, just like in Paris, France. It is said that if you place a “Love Lock” upon the bridge, you will have long, everlasting love. The lock represents the relationship’s unbreakable bond.
o Two – If you look closely in between the arches of the bridge, you will see some German bullet holes that remain from World War II.
· Turtle Beach Bar – If you’ve seen MTV’s Floribama Shore, you’ve seen this place. A lakeside bar with strong drinks, boat access, and weekend DJs – this is the turn up spot. We were not impressed with the food, but the vibe, drinks, and views are top notch. It is listed as “The Hottest Bar on the Lake.” Lay in the grass, dig your toes in the sand, or sit inside, and be sure to get a famous Turtle Bucket! It comes in multiple sizes and flavors. We got the Nauti Turtle 🐢; Light Rum, Banana Ice Cream, and Melon Liqueur Swirl. It was absolutely delicious!!
Although our visit was short, we have deemed this as a bucket lister for all. We cannot wait to go back and stay for a longer period of time.
It’s Puke & Rally Time,
